P.I.D. Radio 3/17/13: The Pope, Pepsi, and Pop Culture

Pope FrancisWHILE IRISH people (in the U.S., anyway) celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, we look back to 3/13/13 and the election of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio as the new head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis I.  Even Catholic observers are not entirely certain whether his name refers to Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscan Order, or Francis Xavier, co-founder of the Society of Jesus — the Jesuits.

Here’s the link to the cartoon of Pope Francis we mentioned during the show.

Also, much ado about movies: Case 39, Sleep Dealer, Surrogates, The Name of the RoseThe Order (or The Sin Eater, depending on where you look for it).  The IMF goes after Cyprus; enhancing your food with Substance 9632 Sucrose Modifier (“Generally Recognized As Safe!”); and into the Google Glass.

Sharon and Derek are presenters at the upcoming Chicago Summit #3, with Russ Dizdar, L.A. Marzulli, Doug Woodward, Rob Skiba, Doug Hamp, and Tom Dunn of the Josiah Project.  Details online here.

We will also be at the Pikes Peak Prophecy Summit July 26-28, 2013 with Gary Stearman, Tom Horn, Chuck Missler, L.A. Marzulli, Joseph Farah, Dr. Stan Monteith, Cris Putnam, and many more.  Get information here.

Reflecting on the washing of feet in John 13–

John 13:7 Jesus answered and said unto him, “What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.”

John 13:8 Peter saith unto him, “Thou shalt never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.”
