THE OPENING CLIP for tonight’s show, from Casablanca, sums up the political dance taking place over the AIG bonus money in Washington, D.C. The very people who voted to make the financial services industry the wealthiest welfare recipients in history now express mock outrage that the money they appropriated from American taxpayers isn’t being spent the way it should.
So they say. Comes word this weekend that some of that bailout money — the stuff left over after bank executives signed their bonus checks, paid foreign creditors, and bought up smaller competitors — is finding its way into the campaign coffers of United States congressmen and senators.
We are shocked! Shocked!
No we aren’t. Picture Chris Dodd or Barney Frank as Inspector Renault and you get the idea. What’s really interesting is that staunchly liberal members of the major media like Paul Krugman, Frank Rich, Maureen Dowd, and others are beginning to realize that President Obama either doesn’t know what he doing, or he does — and they’re not sure which is worse.
Most of the show tonight deals with the economic meltdown of the United States and world reaction to it, and what appears to be the cooperation of the current and former presidential administrations in speeding the process along.

I have heard about the Shroud of Turin for years, I just put it on the back burner. I was not completely convinced yet wondered was it or was it not the linen Jesus was wrapped in? I have read St. John 20 for years too but something stood out a few months back or more to me. It is like God opened up my eyes and answered my question about the Shroud Of Turin.
John 20:7 “And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.”
It is simple, the Shroud of Turin, no matter how convincing the test etc is a lie and not the fabric that was wrapped around Jesus. We should all check out the scriptures more because it is amazing how one can read these passages time after time and miss something this important. It is obvious that God felt this info to be important to be put into the Bible. thanks, alice m.

I love doing research on the Shroud of Turin, and the more I learn about it, the more I am convinced that it truly is the burial cloth of Christ.
As for what is refered to as the ‘face cloth’, or the ‘napkin’, it’s called a Sudarium, and it resides in Oviedo, Spain, and has been extensively studied, and conclusions draw about it, that have not yet been reached concerning the authenticity of the Shroud, itself. The Sudarium does not have an image on it, but it does have quite alot of blood.
But, the Sudarium was not placed on Jesus’ face during burial–the Sudarium was placed over His head after He died, as He hung on the cross, in order to hide His poor, disfigured face from being seen by the crowds, as per the Jewish custom of that date.
It has multiple blood stains, one on top of the other, especially in the area of the nostrils, and the stains occured one right after the other. The investigations, and tests done, demonstrated that the first stains were formed right after the cloth was placed over the Lord’s head, while He still hung on the cross.
The second blood stains occured when they removed His body from the cross, which was some time after the first stains had dried. The third stains occured about 45 minutes later, as He was lifted and carried away from Golgotha, according to the medical investigator, Dr. Jose Villalain, member of the Investigation Team of the Spanish Centre for Sindonology. So, the use of the ‘face cloth’, or Sudarium, was prior to His burial, not during it, and that it more than quite possibly is, due to it’s known history[which is greater than the known history of the Shroud, itself] the same ‘face cloth’/’napkin’, mentioned in John 20:7, which is why it was found “…wrapped together in a place by itself”. It apparently had been placed their after the Lord’s body had been wrapped in the shroud, and laid in the tomb.
Facinating subject, the Shroud–I love delving into it, very much!
I am still thinking about the shroud of Turin. My husband and I have discussed this. The cc church years ago used to practically worship artifacts, bones, people thought to be saints. they would save these relics. the devil is the same. we have to be careful not to worship the creature and instead worship the Creator. I figure if the devil can do false miracles, ufo’s etc signs and wonders…that fallen beings are capable of making a shroud, making it look and feel like it is 2000 years old. they can make it look real ‘scientific’. My generation in the 70’s instead of reading the Bible for themselves started believing ‘every’ so called prophet, read every book out there. “christian books so called had everything out there that was totally confused with all the different doctrines. They didn’t check out what the pastors preached to see if it were true in the Bible. Still going on…I found just reading the Bible took the confusion away… after going through hell…a religious spirit was all around us, and many took advantage of new believers…said we were ‘free through Christ Jesus” than took control and basically threw that out and made sure that others taught us what ‘really’ so called…the Bible said. I knew the Bible is evidence. also, no books in the NT ever mentioned that the ‘shadow’ of Jesus, imprint, whatever…was on the cloth. this would have been big news even by the disciples in the NT who saw Jesus after he rose or were in the burial cave three days later, when the angels were in there too. The two pieces of cloth separated from each other in the cave. ( at least Mary) saw the angels… The big news was that Jesus rose from the dead! I have heard about the shroud since the 70’s. went to the movie…and it was convincing…yet still I was not really convinced it was Jesus. John 20:7 why didn’t I notice that back than? still no matter what is the evidence and Word of God that said there were two pieces. From what I have seen on the internet…people are not reading the scriptures enough and should read it for themselves.God WILL show them knowledge if they truly search. We were suckered by the PTL network…new believers who loved God and since than have grown in the Lord, or given up completely…in God… to find out that there were a lot of ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing ‘ preaching and getting money by the millions. We were taught a lot of lies. I left the CC church only to find out that ‘mind control’ is everywhere, including Bible churches and protestant churches. Are they really different than the CC? Just the same God has revealed and taught things to me because I believed the Word of God. I believed God. We need discernment of the Holy Spirit and need to get rid of the sin of pride, repent for our sins because the devil can destroy us in ways we haven’t thought of, even though we feel we are ‘informed’ or intellectually superior because of ‘knowledge’. ” the beginning of Wisdom is the fear of the Lord” If the Bible disagrees with ‘evidence’ than the Bible is true and the so called ‘evidence’ of the so called Shroud of Turin, supposedly Jesus is a lie. I have come to this conclusion after 30 plus years. Believe me…pastors don’t like me talking like this…they like to control others, even though I guess there are a few godly men out there somewhere.
